Simplifying Simple Machines

People work all the time. Some work can be hard to do. So they use all kinds of machines to help them do their work.

Simple machines are tools with no moving parts (or just a few) that make work easier. Simple machines use energy to work.

There are about 6 different types of simple machines and through this web-quest, you will learn about all of them.  Just follow the instructions below and by the time you are finished, you will be prepared to complete the 5th Grade Marble Challenge.

1. Simple Machines - Do the research.  As you make your way through the webquest, use this note page to take notes.  You will hand it in once you've completed it.

2. Watch these Videos:  Bill Nye the Science Guy and Simple Machines,  What is a Simple Machine? and Simple Machine Song.

3. Now that you've watched these videos, search for simple machines at your house or school and fill in this sheet with examples.

4. Next, explore these sites
