Read SkinnyBones

I think someone should read SkinnyBonesbecause it is funny. It is not to long. It’s about baseball. The main character is kind of a goofball and he always makes the situation that he is in worse. It’s an easy and fun book to read over and over again.

My Connection

I play baseball just like Alex but he said that he was good at bunting. Even though I didn’t get a lot of hits in my season most of my hits were RBI’s and I was good at working walks. In the book Alex has a pitching contest. Sometimes in the baseball season my Dad and I have a catch or hitting contest so it’s similar. There’s this kid who’s my friend but when it comes to sports it’s kind of tough because I’m not the best at sports. So one time he tricked me. It was in baseball, I was batting and he was catching. He started to talk to me and I could not concentrate.

“Strike 1 Strike 2 Strike 3,You’re out !!!”

In SkinnyBones,it’s similar because Alex wants to win so badly but T.J. Stoner is not his friend.

Summary of SkinnyBones

In the beginning of the book, Alex is talking about his cat and he is sending in a slip to try to get on T.V. Then, Alex talks about how bad he plays baseball. He always gets the most improved player award at the Awards Assembly. He starts out reeking and ends up stinking. Next, he has a pitch out with T.J Stoner and he ends up losing. Then he has a baseball game and T.J Stoner is pitching for the other team. If T.J wins it will be his 125^thstraight game that he wins. Finally, Alex feels great even though T.J got to go on T.V. because Alex’ entry slip for kitty fritters won!

My Favorite Part

My favorite part of SkinnyBones the story is when Alex talks about when he was 7 years old and he was playing baseball. So there was a kid on Alex’s team and the coach said bunt so Alex thought that bunt was another word for puke. Alex got all worried. “Coach Danny Patrillo is gonna puke” he said, so when the kid bunted he was like where’s the bunt. Suddenly Alex noticed what a bunt was, a little hit that’s usually the length to the pitchers mound.
